2012 I was approached by the Abbey Stadium. A new building, providing the latest up to date sporting facilities. In time for the Launch of the London Olympics and royal visit I was asked to create 3 large pieces ready for the opening day.
I had one week to create the paintings. Building the frames and prepping the canvas’s. Painted in Aerosol, I really didn’t know how the Royal Party would take to my work. Along side my mother who I wanted to share this day. We was invited to the private opening ceremony where the Queen’s First Cousin the Duke of Kent not only opened the new building but unveiled my work.
I tried to capture a good picture of the Duke, but really that was as happy as he got on the whole visit.
